As much as I think you all suck
an incredible kindness has been shown to me tonight.

Not just in my threads, but in my Inbox. So many people wrote to express their good will, and many wrote to me to share their pain.

I'm an atheist, but I mean this: God bless you all.

and people here, some of whom I thought were dicks, were very very kind to me.

Life is good, and we shouldn't be so quick to judge.

9. I occasionally suck.
I'm endevouring to not suck all the time, though.

This has been a hard couple of days. Dealing with death...of people we like and admire, of loved ones. MrsG opened herself to us about the pain of her husband's death...and you opened yourself about your experience and pain.

As I mentioned to lioness in her Lounge thread about Thomcat, DU can be awesome. DU can bring out the best in people. And I love seeing that. And it sounds like some good people showed you that side of DU. And I'm happy about that.

My inbox has been filled with people sharing their own stories, and my threads, too.

I don't even know what to say - just that plenty of people are in pain, so tread lightly and offer to do something, if you can. OK?

I'm a survivor of suicide, a family member to two, one took her life, the other has made several attempts. Additionally, take suicide out of the equation, I understand how much Heath Ledger's (and JG's) performance in Brokeback Mountain meant to the GLBT community. That movie was a great love story, plain and simple.

And I understand how you feel, at least in part. I tried to commit suicide when I was 11. I haven't really talked about it much here, because it isn't me anymore. But I also know how bleak someone can feel, that they would think that was an answer.

I remember when I was 11 and stared at a boxcutter and considered it. It took me a long time to actually try it.
