When can we admit that this show is just a karaoke contest to determine which US city has the most unemployed people? That these "musicians" are just pawns for one company to keep everybody dumb enough to buy the same regurgitated pablum as the year before? That huffing lighter fluid will damage a brain less than enduring a season of the "OMG Simon just sed something MEAN" crap that I have to put up with. As far as I'm concerned, when apes finally conquer humanity, they will look to "American Idol" as when things started shifted toward them.

I watched a bit of last night's episode. Zero talent.

A bunch of people trying to sing the exact same songs in the exact same genre, out of tune, wierd vibrato, wierd ornamentation that sounds like yodelling. Some of them are better than others and make the cut.

I prefer "so you think you can dance" or "America's got talent" - that's real talent.

and never want to see it. In general, I detest, and I mean DETEST reality shows...except I saw this one about a month ago and now I'm watching Mistress of Pain Heidi Klum and her chi-chi cohort and other friends decide who should win Project Runway.

all the others.. survivor or whatever it's called... even Ozzie and esp. any other celeb reality show makes me want to blow my cookies. cannot watch them. just can't.

Well first they humiliate a bunch of poor saps into auditioning (many of whom have probably been told that "they can be anything they want". Well, no they can't. They can't sing for one thing. But I digress).

And Simon is a complete asshole.

And then you get some manufactured, glorified karaoke contest in order to create they next "star." I know this is nothing new in the music business but it is exactly what I hate most about the music industry and why I no longer listen to the radio.
