1. Either a short-term CD or a treasury note, whichever has the higher interest rate
That way, when I have to pay it back next year, I still come out with a little something something on the flip side.

2. Using it as part of the $3000
they say we owe.

Yes, I know we won't get any 'rebate' since we owe taxes. Getting caught in this alternative minimum tax has been crap...making less money and paying more taxes. Can't beat it with a stick.

3. Only people making over $40,000 will get anything unless
we sign this petition and maybe it will do some good and help the needy too.

Sign the Petition

Full petition text:

"Congress must quickly pass a stimulus package that helps those who need it most and will spend
it the fastest. And it should include public investments that will create jobs and move us toward
a 21st century, clean energy economy."

8. I make less than that and paid plenty of taxes last year.
I mean I got a refund but certainly paid more than I got back (around $2500 or so overall). So that is unfair, if that's how it ends up.

5. In the bank or to pay bills.
I am not going to go shopping for stuff I don't need to help bail out Bush from this mess he's created.

7. crown
on my tooth and 2 fillings. That accounts for $400 of it. The rest would go towards rent and other necessary expenses. I could use that money towards grad school, which I am going to attend this fall.
