MSNBC's coverage of Heath Ledger's death is making me ill...
...they're now talking about a rolled-up $20 bill found near the body. Yesterday they immediately posted on their site that drugs "might" be involved.

You know, I'm sad enough over this heart-breakingloss...I don't need to hear or read some nitwits trying to sensationalize this tragedy.

1. Faux News' coverage was worse
They really have some clowns working there. Was watching the coverage as it broke yesterday and they were totally trying to sensationalize the story. It was sickening.

4. Turn that off now!
I never watch Faux--maybe if there were a gun to my head.

Anyway, you don't even need to sensationalize this...it's so sad it's a story people want to hear and read about. It's not like you had to grab someone's attention with lies and innuendo.

8. I remember when River Phoenix died...his mother wrote a column for
some newspapers about her son, and talked about how we've lost touch with nature, etc. It did sound kind of new-age-y, but it was a way she was probably trying to work through the grief and loss,

Then, Mona Charen wrote a column bashing River's mom and what she said. Now, even if you don't agree with someone, can't you just let it be? The woman lost her son, just let it be. I don't understand these "conservatives" who take pleasure over someone else's pain.

9. wow, I forgot about Mona Charen.
she was on all the political shows in the 90's and a regular on the now-defunct "Capital Gang".

she was nasty.

13. Oh god, I remember that
I was pretty young but I remember how hateful reich-wingers were about it.

It cemented my contempt for conservatives even at that age.

14. Yup, something very wrong about taking pleasure in someone
else's pain...did you see the posts about what John Gibson had to say?

16. I saw and it made me ill
I can't imagine what kind of sick mind would even formulate that, much less utter it on national TV. :puke:

3. I know, but I like hearing and reading what celebrities have to
say about his death...the guy was just really beginning his life and career. I really loathe that we're a celebrity-based culture, but when something like this happens, you do sort of feel like you know the guy. I know, I know, we don't, but I feel that way.

7. Why do people like him take delight in some people's deaths?
I mean, what did the guy ever do to them that causes such gloating? Is he really any better than Fred Phelps?

15. The media handles ALL deaths horribly...
It was a year ago this week that an accident took the life of a friend of mine and severely injured another. That very day the TV news bombastically reported that authorities suspected alcohol and high speeds, and that charges were pending. they showed the blood-stained rock where she had hit her head, but they couldn't even bother to pronounce her Spanish name correctly or get a picture of her. Granted she was a young, low-income Mexican food-service worker who had come here for her education, and not a wealthy blonde chick, but I was completely shocked by the lack of respect shown to her and her family after a horrific tragedy. Recently I've talked to a cop who worked the accident, and I read the synopsis of it in the local paper's review of the year's events a few weeks ago, and neither of them mentioned alcohol or high speeds...they mentioned the weather. It was 6:00 AM, and they hit a patch of ice which caused the vehicle to flip several times.

23. Those twin chupacabres she's raising scare the bejesus out of me
This woman exploited and spun the death of her fiance to advance her ideology and hate. Those kids make me think they'll do the same.
