16. Bettas are fun!
Hold a mirror in front of one and make it think there is another Betta around and watch them display (I got to play with Betta's in college...I have kitties that would eat one so I don't have on now)

9. Goodness. This is ironic to me...
I have had TWO major anxiety attacks in the last 4 days (non functional in many ways right now) and I talked to my bipolar Uncle today who also has not been feeling well.
Sorry to hear about that. I go to the doc tomorrow myself...
Feel better...

I'm so glad you're better, sweetie...

And I know you didn't like being in a locked facility, but trust me on this (I used to work in one, OK?)...

Sometimes they are really necessary...

you can also get an african violet for your room. if you have a florescent light, it will be really happy.

35. do you have a desk lamp?
or something like that? if you put a florescent bulb in it (which is also recommended anyway for green reasons) that would work. You can put it right underneath. one way to have really healthy african violets is to give them a.v. food, of course, but also find an old tennis shoelace (those white cotton kind)-cut off the plastic things on the ends and then cut the lace so that it will hang over the top and bottom of the pot -- pretty long on the bottom. then you put a bowl or cup of water nearby and stick the bottom of the shoelace in the water. the shoelace acts as a wick to draw water from the cup to keep the a.v. happy.

florescent light, wick and waterbowl, and a plant food stick or something... all you need to make your a.v. very, very happy. if you talk to it, it's like you're feeding it with the carbon dioxide from your breath and the a.v. gives back oxygen to you.

I love plants.

22. glad you're ok, but that's certainly a good bit of advice
A few years ago a good friend of mine got locked up in one of these "hospitals".... I guess he needed help, but parts of it were completely silly. He had me bring him food (because the food there was shit), and there were certain things they wouldn't let us bring in... it was so weird. Eventually (this guy was in his 30's at the time) his PARENTS had to come (on a flight, from another state) and talk to the officials there for him to be let out.... he said that being there just made him feel worse - I hope it wasn't that bad for you.
