Do you know how many good people are here?

I've gotten dozens of PMs from strangers, who were either concerned about me or needed to share their stories. Almost 60 of them.

I started two threads that got hundreds of responses and hundreds of recs.

Many of the comments and PMs I got were from people I thought were my enemies - but when a sensitive topic came up, they put aside our differences.

So when this site gets you down, remember that much of what we say here is bravado, fake, nonsense. And I include myself in that.

We're good people.

I have a treasure trove of PMs that I've kept. Many from folks that I know don't really care for me, but we've come together on an issue or two.

I've found DU to be the epitome of infighting AND the epitome of putting that shit aside when it's needed and deserved.

I have seen it over and over, time and again, how many good people are here...

I've needed love and support too, and both complete strangers and my friends have come through for me...

And there are some days where I despise this place, but as was shown w/ Andy, OMC, and many others, it's also home to some of most loving, generous, and compassionate people I've ever had the pleasure to know, too..

And I'm glad your posts got the responses they did.

Most of us will never meet each other face to face, but that doesn't mean we don't care, and it doesn't mean we won't reach out to another when that person is in need, or shares something painful in their life.
