3. funny you should mention elevators.
anyone think that it would be possible to salvage an elevator? or not to? trying to incorporate good handicap accessibility into an addition we are building, and i want an elevator. but jeeeez they are expensive.
they are tearing things down around here all the time. i would think they are out there.

10. On one type of ship
The cook always took the elevator down one deck at 5:30 am. He would stand and wait for a long time rather than take the ladder. One of the Engineers got so he could time it and would press the "up" button in the Engine Room just as the Cook entered the elevator. The logic was programmed to prioritize the Chief Engineer's deck and the Engine Room. The Cook always ended up in the Engine room and could never figure out why. He looked at us and we looked at him with straight faces.

8. As Alan Sherman sings:
I met a man named Otis
Who invented a room
And his heart was filled with pride
I said to Mr Otis
What does your room do
He said
It moves from side to side.
