1. Hmmmmm.
Is it internet BS, or person-to person BS?

4. Eye contact....
Watch for slight blushing. Watch to see if they look you in the eye when they tell you something.

Look to see if they look down and to the left when telling you something.

Grab their hand, look them firmly in the eye, and very seriously say..."Are you lying to me"?

See if their reaction contains a slight smile or any obvious nervousness.

That's all I got!

Good luck.

5. Have you tried cleaning your plasma conduits?
 Sorry, I am no help whatsoever. If I want to practice detecting BS, I go http://youtube.com/watch?v=f2b1D5w82yU&feature=RecentlyWatched&page=1&t=t&f=b">here.

6. Assume nothing. Live in doubt. Or rather,
assume that potentially everyone you meet, every story you here, is total b.s.

Read the book, "The Sociopath Next Door," if you need validation for assuming that many people you meet on the street are just total, stone-cold, amoral freakazoids who will do anything or say anything to get what they want from you.

7. Yep. Ask the prospective BS'er questions and let them talk. Just listen.
Give them enough time and someone BS'ing can't stand a patch of silence. They'll unravel if they're full of lies.

That's been my technique. Worked pretty well over the years.
