I think that somewhere between fifteen and twenty-eight are mandatory in my region if you buy any cable package more extensive than "coat hanger jammed into tv's coaxial socket."

It's NFL, NBA, College Sports (2 channels), 2 Soccer channels, and I think 2 horse racing channels (*eyes*)

And their stupid commercial crap plays 25 times an hour on every damm station that's not PBS.

Comcast likes to raise my rates in 5-10 dollar increments per month once a year. Two years ago in was nearly 20 per month

Maybe we have different laws or something here in MA? I have no idea, but I've been managing my parents' finances for years, and it hasn't gone up very much at all...Weird. I guess we are lucky. :shrug:

And also saw fit to raise the rate from $14.00 to $16.00. Not a huge amount of cash, but the channel-range dropped by about 10% while the price jumped by 14.2%.

Paying more to get less is the Korporate American Way, though...

It's pretty cool not knowing WTFs on TV. They can take their "triple play" bundle and stuff it.

The increase is the second one this year, following a nearly 6 percent boost in January. It will not, however, affect customers taking Comcrap's limited $99 "triple play" bundle of video, phone and broadband. Subscribers taking basic cable also will not be affected.

But for regular users, who pay about $50 a month, the increase is just the latest in an almost annual ritual. Before January, Comcrap raised rates by 6 percent each of the previous two years.

I hope these bastards go out of business.

We added BASIC high speed internet to our digital voice and they charged me for premium.

When we first got just digital voice (and no cable TV) they charged us for cable TV.

THEN they didn't give us the rate they originally quoted on the digital voice.

I hate Comcast. They're greedy and incompetent.

They were supposed to hook up my digital-cable/phone/internet on the 18th. First, they disconnect my phone service from the current carrier, then they determined they couldn't do the install because there is no tap-plate on the pole. So they left, so I called them(on my neighbor's phone obviously)...20 minutes later, they begrudgingly agreed to call AT&T and have my phone service(the one THEY cancelled "on my behalf") turned back on, but griped about the fact that having taken over my service, it's costing them money. So I inquired about the reschedule on my hook-up. "Oh...first they have to install the tap-plate, and then, we're going to run the wire underground (This is CT, ground-thaw may not occur until March), after that's done, you can call up to schedule your service hookup. (2-4 weeks from that point.)" Needless to say, I'm not happy and everybody I can get on the phone at Comcast has heard about it.

In the meanwhile, my telephone is costing them $6 a day. Next time, you get a rate hike, I'm probably the cause.

Even if some of the programming is a bit insipid, it's all in FRENCH.

Wait til you see your first Quebecois program! Some of them are in a dialect so thick, they're subtitled in French!
