5. You forgot "haberdasher."
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 06:27 PM by Kutjara
All that "carpenter" stuff was just the result of inept translation from Aramaic to Greek.

And don't even get me started on "fisher of men." I mean, didn't any of the early editors say "WTF?" to that nonsense? It's "finisher of hems" people!

Sheesh.

7. Harold
As in "Our Father, who art in heaven, Harold be thy name..." It's also in the carol: "Hark, the Harold! Angels sing".

He took His Dad's first name as His middle name. Lots of people do that, Eastern Europeans in particular.

The H is for an Aramaic word for fornication.

Loud: Jesus Christ!
Louder: Jesus H. Christ!
Loudest: Jesus Fucking Christ!

The only true disciple of Jesus that I know of on this forum is Sally Mander. She's the one following the way of the herpetologist. :)

It means "the supplanter" in Hebrew, as in Jesus supplaned traditional Judaism and Paganism by discipling people and starting Christianity.

Joseph and Mary couldn't decide, so they just gave him a letter, like Harry S Truman had. They just needed something for then they were really pissed at him, or for when they were calling him in for dinner.
