Man On Lawn Mower Accused Of Driving Drunk.
ADRIAN, Mich. -- Police in Michigan charged a man with drunk driving, saying he downed two bottles of wine and rode off on his lawn mower to a liquor store in a snowstorm.

Adrian police stopped the man Saturday night as he rode home from the store. They said he was toting four bottles of wine in a paper bag.

He told officers his wife had taken their car to work, and that the mower was the only way he could reach the store, which was two miles away.

According to police, the man's blood alcohol level was 2½ times Michigan's legal driving limit of .08 percent.

Police arrested him and seized the mower.

1. M.U.I.
The cops knew he was drunk by the shitty job he did on the front lawn.

4. Interesting legal question there
I can't imagine he can really be charged with DUI, since no state defines a riding mower as a motor vehicle. Illegal riding on the street, possibly.

However, the utter dimwittery of riding the mower in a blizzard is a tough one to top.

6. I don't know what it is in legal terms
but there's a kind of "with intent to" thing that would apply here, as the bozo was operating the mower as if it were a motor vehicle — kinda like if someone threatens you with a conga drum while robbing you, it's armed robbery (but probably with an asterisk, or maybe a cowbell).
