Lost literary spoiler -- POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD
Okay, did y'all get the C.S. Lewis reference at the end last night? "Charlotte Staples Lewis" (C.S, Lewis -- and Lewis' middle name was "Staples").

An apple is brought back from Narnia by a young man and young woman, and grows into a tree that comes down in a storm. That wood is made into a wardrobe which is in the house of the young man, now an elderly professor. A young girl enters the wardrobe and discovers it's a portal to another world -- NOT another dimension.

So, is the Island it's own world?

Who or what is the portal from the World We Know to the Island?

Or is the Island the Wood Between the Worlds ala "The Magician's Nephew" and is the "base camp" to many other worlds???????

The writers do NOTHING accidentally. Charlotte's name is C.S. Lewis for a reason!

2. I know!!!
Haruka doesn't watch the show, but The Ex and I call each other up during commercials, and that's one of the first things we said.

3. My GF doesn't watch it either, but often is around when its on
Last night as soon as Ben said, "I have someone on the boat" I yelled, "God, I love this show!" and she cracked up.

But my ex and my son watch it. We watched the opening - they have a huge flat screen TV - and I'll be there with them for the season finale.

Also my ex is a big CS Lewis fan. I'll have to ask him if he picked this up.

4. I screamed the first episode when
Hurley looked into the cabin and saw Dr. Shepherd... and then Locke's eye. Haruka just looked at me and went back to the computer.

6. They're all Dharma kids, I think.
Did you see the way the "psychic" changed when he learned Juliette wasn't an Oceanic survivor. Complete change in demeanor. Anyways, I think that is why the goofy names are there. Because the Dharma "commune" seemed a little goofy like that.

Also, it looks like Ben has been off of the island, judging from that picture they have.

8. I caught that, too
then again I'm an english teacher/geek.

Did you catch the line from the asian guy (maybe c.s. lewis?) about "you've been living here all this time?" The Lewis connection has the "time issues" on the island make sense. Maybe the island is "real time" and we are living in the sped up world of the wardrobe? That is why ben leaving the island would make him grow older while the other others don't seem to age. That is why the losties have been living there "all this time". I love how they open up so many cans of worms in such a subtle manner.

Have you read Watership Down? That creates some interesting ideas about the show, too.
