2. Didn't do pot in my misspent youth
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 07:03 PM by ayeshahaqqiqa
You have to clean pot? That shows how much I know about it. I do think it should be legalized, though.

12. Yeah...
Otherwise, the seeds explode -- blowing a burnt hole through the side of your joint, or popping out of your pipe/bong so you have to scramble to find the hot little buggers in the rug.

And you don't want to smoke the stems, either -- gives some folks a headache, for one thing. (But you save the stems and all other non-bud material for making brownie butter!)

Or so I understand, from reading about this terrible, horrible, evil habit. O8)

14. "Clean" is an inaccurate term.
But used all the time.

You clean out the seeds and stems and crush the leaves a bit to make a somewhat fine powder.

Save the stems for when you're totally desperate.

25. It's actually kind of overrated.
It's fun, but I never understood the major glamour or why people would do it all the time. I've only managed to get addicted to Starbucks.

24. Dave Hope
lived down the street. The used to practice in his garage. I had a long talk with Kerry a couple of years ago, his brother Chris and nephew Jake built my horse barn. I was in art class with Danny Katz. They played for our High School as a warm up for Steve Martin who was just starting out making the rounds as a comic.

He played guitar on Dust in the Wind, right? I saw them at Kansas State when I was in high school. Foreigner warmed up for them.

36. Cool
are you from Kansas or did you travel to see them? It was 1969 or 70, probably early 70 when they played at my high school. I don't know when they all started changing but I would guess he was on that album. They still play around here now and then, I saw them just after the Oklahoma bombing, they did a benefit. Kerry plays with them when they do that, usually just a little and Jake as well.

38. Yes - from Wamego
if you can find that, give yourself a gold star (oops, duck! Grovelbot!)

I saw them in - maybe 1976? Can't remember exactly. I'd only been to one other concert - the Doobie Bros. (How appropros for this thread.)

A friend I worked with at the time was really into them - his favorite was Masque. I started collecting and really got into them as well. Actually preferred the stuff prior to Wayward Son, but liked it all.

(sorry to hijack this thread) I am going to Wamego in a couple of days. A friend of mine has a string shop there and I have an upright bass stool/holder waiting there for my son. Of course I know Wamego, I have lived my whole life in Topeka and my oldest goes to KState.

40. Cool back atcha
:)

I used to live above the Friendly Cooker. On Main Street. Can't miss it.

Are we like totally off topic?

Last time I was there, it was 4th of July, and that wingnut from Topeka - Fred Phelps - was running for governor. It was the weirdest thing. All the other candidates were there (Wamego has a huge 4th of July celebration), all in open convertibles, sweating their asses off, and the Phelps mobile goes by - dark tinted windows all rolled up and absolutely no one visible. Bizarre.

ride through there last month with the Peace Walkers for Kucinich. I missed the Rossville exit (they changed the sign) and ended all the way over in Wamego and had to backtrack. I will look for your old place when I go there.

Lived in Manhattan for 20 years and then Lawrence for 5.
Saw Kansas in about 1973.
Last I checked the original bass player is a photographer for the Manhattan Mercury. (I haven't lived in Kansas for about a decade)

How did you miss this one? My gosh - White Rabbit!! I actually saw the Airplane in concert, twice, Friday night in Fairbanks and Saturday night in Anchorage, back in 1969! Grace was about 11 months pregnant and still could really sing.
