Well, that was entertaining... First time I watched the Grammy's...
The Beatles, Little Richard and Jerry Lee, Fogerty, Beyonce, Tina Turner, George Gershwin, Alicia Keys...

And the Foo Fighters...

Man, I tell you that was entertainment...

I enjoyed Amy Winehouse although I don't think she lives up to all the hype...

At least she is not breathy and little girl pretend sexy...

Greaser Sexy...

Hot, sultry and a deep deep voice that doesn't add a whole lot of extra notes...

And it was great to see Herbie Hancock win for best album...

Although I am listening to the best album of the year, in my humble opinion, Bruce - Magic...

1. Herbie Hancock won for best album?
That's cool!

My husband likes his song "Cantaloupe Island."

Very dance-able!

:hi:

2. Seems like the Grammys have gotten better and hipper in the last few years,
the one show, I think it was 2 years ago when Melissa Etheridge sang "Piece of My Heart" - that whole show was an absolute barn-burner from beginning to end. So far tonight's show is pretty good (we're still in the first hour of the broadcast here in California).

6. Yeah, that was a show with something for everyone.
Strangely, Amy Winehouse was a disappointment to me. I guess I don't get swept over by her "drunk chick in a dark alley" act and I find that whatever talent she does have is wasted by a lack of effort. But the rest of the show was consistently entertaining, and even the very few acts that were dull were over with quckly.

4. I always find parts of it to enjoy.
I liked many parts of it, the ones you mentioned plus the beautiful Rhapsody In Blue and the Josh Groban duet tribute to Pavarotti.

5. Loved seeing Jerry Lee and Fogerty together.
To me, that was the highpoint of the night.

Except for Kanye's acceptance speech, which was, er...entertaining.
