What's the best gas mileage your current car can do?
Mine is about 30 mpg on the highway. Wish it was better.

It's the V6 so it's not as economical as I'd like. Kick-ass truck though! :loveya:

5. I wish I had one of those.
In the 80's I had a Monte Carlo, that got 14 mpg on the highway. 9-10mpg around town.

6. 35-ish on the highway....
But that's cruising at about 65 mph or so. If I go 70, it's not quite as good.

10. I actually have no idea. Here's why:
I'm too lazy to keep track, and that's because...

My gas gauge is broken. So what I do is get about $10 worth of gas every 50 miles or so. I do not drive a lot, maybe 3 miles/day. What happens is, about every three months, there's enough gas in the tank so that I can't even put in the $10 worth. Obviously, I am "misunderestimating" my gas mileage. By how much, is anyone's guess because...I COULD keep track and do the math, but I'm too lazy. :)

22. Mine's broken too
But I fill the tank every 200 miles. It usually takes 10 gallons - but all I do is City driving - so the math is easy. Granted it's an old car, and the mileage sucks, but since I only drive it about 50 miles a week I don't feel terribly guilty.

Depends on the traffic. On long trip to Ohio it was creeping up towards 40!

13. My Volvo wagon is SUPPOSED to get 18 in city driving, 25 on the highway.
Maybe if the owner before me had bothered to maintain it AT ALL, it might still do something close to that. As it is, I get about 10 in town, 15 on the highway.

Piss-fucking-poor.

19. I regularly do over 60 in my Prius
My drive to work is a longish distance at moderate speeds--perfect conditions for the Prius. In the summer when it's warm, but not warm enough to require AC, I often get over 60 MPG. This time of year when it's below freezing, I'm lucky to do 45.

21. I can push sixty in the Prius...
...but that takes too much of my attention away from driving. I'm happy in the 52-56 zone.

The Accord Hybrid is good for thirty-one in commutes, and I got 38 on a thousand-mile interstate round-trip.

33. 43mpg on crappy Japanese roads
Lots of stoplights and other driving obstacles that cut down on the mileage.
Interestingly, the mileage actually seems to go down at a steady 60mph clip on the (not-so)free-way.

Toyota tells me it gets 23 in the city, 30 on the highway. I'll take their word for it.
