My parents are being kind of stupid.

I think I might have bronchitis or something, or at least a really bad post-viral asthma flare-up.

And my mother insists I'd make myself better if I just would drink more tea and stay out of the basement (it's kind of damp).

Ugh. Just...ugh.

1. That's not entirely bad advice

Tea will loosen up your bronchial passages. There's even an herbal "bronchial" tea that's pretty good.

There's all sorts of wierd molds, mildews etc. lurking in the basement that would just love to inhabit your lungs.

2. Agreed.

When I lived at home, we toyed with the idea I'd rent the basement. It was vetoed due to the threat of mold and other nasty things.
