What would be a good date for a "Humanity Day"?

I was just reading this brilliant blog entry about a new holiday where I live, "Family Day", and why it's kind of dumb. http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=15152043&blogID=358565231

I like this idea: "I say let's have a HUMANITY DAY".

I'm thinking of "inventing" this holiday. You know, like creating a facebook event for it and stuff.

What would be a good day, in the next few months, to have it? (In terms of historical relevance, or something of the sort)?

Darwin day (12 Feb) might also be said to be a day of celebrating humanity, at least in terms of human accomplishment and achievement.
