Prayer request for Brenda and Ashley

My cousin's step-daughter has been in a coma for four days after a head on collision. She is a beautiful, lovely, witty and kind 20 year old. Her wonderful mother has not left the hospital in 3 days. Please pray or send your good vibes to Ashley and Brenda as is your custom. Thank you.

There is nothing I can do that will make you feel better or more comfortable about the situation your experiencing. The only thing I can tell you is that she is not experiencing any pain and she is in a nice and peaceful place in her mind. I hope she returns to normal or passes quickly.

What a terrible experience. I have endured several hospital stays, but nothing as severe as this. I hope that you are okay now.:-(

And if I may make what will sound like a bizarre suggestion -- in traditional Chinese medicine there is an acupunture point that is known as the "coma" point, also known as Kidney 1. It is stimulated by needle or hand to help revive someone who has entered a coma. This point, along with other acupunture points, have begun to be used in mainstream hospitals who are interested in alternative therapies.

It can't hurt if someone were to stimulate this point via massage on both her feet, four or five times a day. To located this point look at the sole of her foot, place your finger between her second and third toes (from the big toe side of her foot), and then move down the sole of her foot keeping that line between the toes until you reach just past the pad of her foot and the beginning of her arch -- you'll feel a natural little indentation that your finger tip will want to fall into automatically. This is Kidney 1. Using your fingers or thumb FIRMLY press and rub this area and an inch or so around it in a circular pattern. Using this point cannot hurt her in any way nor will it interfere with what the doctors are doing for her.

I have had success using acupuncture points similar to Kidney 1 to help friends bring on labor, so I know that they can work. I have just never had the opportunity to use Kindey 1 on someone in your counsin's daughters situation.

I have heard no updates. Brenda, the mother, has not left hospital and must be exhausted.

I hope the girl comes out of her coma soon and that everyone is able to recover from the trauma.

Ashley took her own feeding tube out today and said a few words to her mother before going back to sleep. We are all very happy about this improvement. Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers respectively.

They have both been in my thoughts.
