Project Runway Finale... I finally got to see it, so you're stuck with my thoughts.

Overall, final runway show: I thought Jillian's was the best, Rami's was more of the same, and Christian's was surprisingly unfinished looking.

I completely agreed with the judges saying that Rami's color selections tend to be a little "off" which is what I think is part of what bothered me about him all season long. I just didn't know it. I wonder if he is color blind? But, his talent is obvious and the skill he has with the draping and the weaving is undeniable. Most of his work looks rather matronly.

Jillian's show just blew me away in that everything was wearable and I had thought she would do a lot of Michael Jacksony, spacelike coats. I loved the black sweater with the gold piping. I think she has a real future in designing ready to wear. I also think that was her downfall; she's almost too wearable for what this program is.

Christian's final show just seemed really unfinished to me and his first 4 outfits looked practically the same. Although he was consistent the entire show (save the prom gowns). I also think the judges liked his attitude. I do think he probably deserved to win based on entire performance, but I hope he doesn't go on to do all ruffles and tiers.

Also, as a former hairstylist and with him being a hairstylist, lay off the aerosol already and get a decent cut and color. That's just a personal thought. He was not very inspired when it came to model hair and makeup.

Side notes: Everybody needs a Tim Gunn in their life. I would so love for him to come and say nice things to me... Those are the best parts of the show. I even catch my son being soothed by his chats.

Who in the heck picked Victoria Beckham to judge...? and then called her a designer? She's a name lender to a line of clothing. And she needs a new haircut. And a personality. But then, maybe she's just shy.

I think, overall, it was an amazing show though.

1. i love project runway
i thought Jillian would win but was happy for Christian.

i agree about Victoria Beckham, can't they get someone better, especially for the final show.

this season there were a few people i would have loved to see what they did if they made it to the final show. sweet pea and Kevin. i still don't understand why Kevin was kicked off and ricky was kept for so long.

2. I really liked Kevin's work, but I liked Ricky's emotions.
I think Kevin was the better designer and thought they were rather tough on him.

3. I went with Christian as the winner.

1. Christian had the more cohesive show. I know all season we've seen him stick to a few colors, but I've seen many top designers go with the mostly all black and white collections (like what Francisco Costa with Calvin Klein and Karl Lagerfeld with Chanel put out). I would think that if we would have saw more color throughout the season from him, then his limited color choices for his final collection would not have been made an issue.

2. Christian had more drama. The entire look was complete, from accessories to makeup. There were many ready-to-wear pieces but there were also many "show" pieces done in the spirit of a haute couture show. It was also obvious that his casting experience at Alexander McQueen and Vivian Westwood had helped him pick models that really sold his clothes. Their walks, expressions, and poses really voiced the edgy, gothic appeal he was going for. I also have read several of the post-show write-ups and almost all of them were very vociferous in their praise of Christian's work. I think he was wise to do his show this way because it almost guarantees a crowd at his next presentation, regardless of a Project Runway win.

3. Christian's collection was technically superior. Though I think Rami's draping techniques (especially the one that weaved the drape through the patterns) was simply outstanding and major props to Jillian for her silhouettes. I could easily tell how much work went into Christian's show just watching them go down the runway. I can't imagine how hard it must have been to get some of those folds and cuts to bring out those silhouettes in many of those complex pieces and many of his jackets had a touch of Dior (a la the "new look") in their tailoring.

Christian was my favorite most of the season, and was happy to see him win. The work of this year's final 3 was immensely better than the previous seasons.

5. I really thought, from a technical standpoint, that Christian's looked the
least finished, as the looks went on. The first four were wonderfully tailored and then they just seemed like rough edged ruffles from then on. I am happy he won because I think he is a great designer...but he has those other issues... like the ex hairstylist who does horrendous hair things. ;)

4. I was cheering for Christian the entire time
Rami was too anal. Jillian's creations are outstanding.
