I just had a new washer delivered. I bought it at Lowe’s and they called me earlier to set up a time when they could come. Two men showed up and I opened the garage door for them to bring it in and hook it up.
All seemed to be going great, so I went through the door leading to the kitchen to get some money for tips. When I went back, I just went out the sliding glass door, as the washer hook up is close to the kitchen door, I didn’t want to get in the way.
As I approached the open garage door, I saw one of the men standing on the far side of the garage, looking at things we have on a shelf. One of the things is an old East Indian teapot; I always thought it would make a cool bong and I though maybe this guy was thinking the same.
When he saw me coming, he quickly moved back close to the new washer and crouched to talk to the other guy, so I didn’t say anything, but I had wanted to just offer it to him, as we will never use it. So, I busy myself with some junk on the worktable, waiting for them to finish, and I see the guy staring at the man door. Literally staring at the door and the locks, as they are getting ready to go.
I thanked them both and handed them the tips, and he doesn’t meet my eyes. I have been thinking about this and I want to call Lowe’s to ask what the guy’s names are that are delivering in my area. We have nice stuff in the garage, I want to be prepared if our garage is broken into.
The guy seemed to be the new guy and I don’t want to make trouble for him, unless of course my suspicion is correct. Why doesn’t Lowe’s have their delivery people wear nametags? If I do call, what excuse can I use so I don’t make trouble? Am I being paranoid?
