i think in these troubled times, we, as americans, should always remember

that canada is rich in natural resources and other commodities.

It would not surprise me one bit if George has already thought of that.

We got our asses kicked every time.

Don't see why it wouldn't be the same today. If we invaded Canada, the entire British Commonwealth would come to the rescue. Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the other twenty or so countries in the Commonwealth. France would jump in, no doubt. Helping out Quebec and all that. Probably most of Europe would ally itself with Canada against us.

Personally, I don't want Quebec. So my preferred strategy is to ally with the Quebec separatists, thus canceling out the potential french opposition, and giving us a fanatic group on the inside willing to fight for us instead of against. the Australians are a long way away, and at worst, we can trade them Guam for staying out of it. New Zealand... I dunno. we can pay them in sheep and toad eating weasels to keep out of it. As to Britain, I am sure something can be worked out. Maybe something involving technical aide in bettering their internal movie industry and an annual tithe of dental technicians for the next 15 years.

It could work. And think of the benefits. How many Canadians would want to join the Republican party, do you think? I see either a successful 3rd party, or guaranteed Democratic presidents and majorities for at least the next 50 years. Its win win for everyone but the (nonquebecian) Canadians.

For whatever reason, God saw fit to put Canada over top OUR natural resources, just like God saw fit to put China, Mexico, Central Americam South America, Antarctica, Europe, Asia, Australia, Greenland, Iceland, Africa, and four great oceans and many seas, lakes, rivers, ponds, and icecaps over OUR natural resources and commodities.
