Okay that's IT! I am sick and tired of the damned WIND!
This started over a month ago around here (Richmond VA) with a couple of horrific windstorms. Horrendously tough to sleep and our daughter was waking up every 10 minutes

Now my early morning runs have turned into engineering sessions the night before trying to figure out how to avoid 20 MPH head winds the next morning. This weekend on the Blue Ridge Parkway I turned around at my half way mark (6 miles) only to be braced by a screaming wind (hadn't noticed it when I had it at my back  ) and started slowly cranking back

:grr:

Got I am so *#(($*BN@##)#(NG SICK OF IT!

1. I don't like the wind either
It is the main reason I keep my hair long enough for a ponytail. I can't stand my hair blowing around like a tornado dancing on my head.

2. I can't sleep when the wind is howling
There's something really disconcerting about it -- like it's out to get you. A nurse once told me that the patients in mental wards get more agitated when it's really windy. Hmmm...maybe it's time I see a therapist.

3. I'm grateful for it
when it dries my clothes on the line or when it's going with me while raking leaves. Not so happy when I lose power, though.

6. I hear ya.
I am beyond sick of it. I wish it would die down so I could hang the laundry outside. (Dryer won't be fixed until Monday) Now, if I do it, it will end up in Norfolk.

7. I love wind
Not sure what the order would be, but snow, fog, and wind are the top three weather situations that I can't get enough of.

"Now my early morning runs have turned into engineering sessions the night before trying to figure out how to avoid 20 MPH head winds the next morning."

Keeps your creative juices flowing too. You have to try and figure out, hours ahead of time, what you're doing, where to go. You can't just flick on the TV and be told what to do.

That's another one. Wouldn't mind getting rid of weather reports. I might not even mind a boring sunny day if I didn't know it would happen ahead of time.

9. Then don't move to Corpus Christi
or, I suppose, anywhere on the Texas coast in the spring.

The last few weeks have seen numerous cold fronts blow in, including wind speeds up to 50 mph. Winds are normally no less than 20 mph here this time of year and often higher, depending on the location and strength of fronts. Great if you are a windsurfer or just a surfer, not so great for other water sports like kayaking, my personal favorite. Calm days are a rarity until summer.

10. Living out here in the open plains...
I can sure feel for ya. Sometimes it blows out here so hard for days on end it does set my nerves on edge just to hear it, let alone deal with it.

11. I hear ya, cycling in a head wind sucks, too.
you have my sympathies.
Maybe you could have the Bob Seger song "Against the Wind" as your theme song on your iPod as you're running.
Maybe it'll give you extra energy.

:D
