Confession time! What is your dirty little television secret?
What is the show you watch gleefully that people would think makes you a bit off.

Mine is Sagwa, The Chinese Siamese Cat.

It's cuter and sappier than a marshmallow dipped in honey, but I just can't turn the channel.

16. Television Evangelists.

I love the circular argument that they need money
to pay for the television broadcasting so they
can continue to ask for more money to pay for their
broadcasting.

Surely, these people don't actually believe the
dogma that they preach.
They could never justify their lifestyles to
St. Peter to gain admission to Heaven.

These charlatans will show photos and videos of
their ranches, houses, horses, private planes, etc.,
and we are supposed to believe they are agents of
God?
It's the perfect scam; if the requests don't work
the victim was "not worthy."

"Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

102. we usually check that out on DVD when a new season comes out
You mentioned the "Love Boat" type casting and stories, and that's what really appeals to me about it. There are so many ways in which it is a throwback to 80s television--the storylines, the "special" guest stars, the silly musical numbers at the end of a lot of episodes, the god-like nature of the James Caan character (I've only seen one season with Selleck). It's cheesy, to be sure, but there's a really interesting sorta retro feel to the structure and the production. If the episodes would end on a freeze frame and then the credits ran with stills or silent clips from the episode, it would be freaking perfect. :D

Since it's on at the same time as Rachel Maddow's show on AAR, I mute the sound and put on the captions so I can watch Rachel and listen to Rachel. It is weird to watch her cook while the soundtrack is about the war in Iraq, though.

80. People I met for the first time earlier in the day ALWAYS let me borrow their car.
But for some reason I can't remember the dude's name. It was Jeff, or Jim, or something like that. And he must have left his meth in the center console too!

When WMUette says she wants to watch TV, I sometimes say, "Do you want to watch Sagwa?" ;)

It's always on when we sit down to dinner. I think she's a liberal under wraps.

88. She was a genuine hard working professional actress
of the old school and really was all those things and had been a real charmer around 1910 or so. Helen Hayes was her contemporary and, a bit later, Billie Burke.

72. Back in the early 90s, I occasionally skipped work to catch reruns of "Square Pegs".

SARAH JESSICA PARKER is one of the HOTTEST women to ever walk God's green Earth,
and I recognized that fact back when she and I were both about 16 years old,
decades before you "Horny-come-lately" channel-surfers wandered into all that
lameassed neo-scripted "Sex in the City" folderoll.

73. American Idol
It might be the cheesiest show being produced right now, but I like watching strangers singing some dubious pop songs. And yes, I like watching karaoke singers in public too (but don't ask me to go up on stage!)

Also, I've been known to sit through Lawrence Welk reruns if I'm around and they're on.

OK...I have seen this thing more or less since I was a kid.

And...yeah I do still check in on it every now and then.

Not often. Maybe once every two weeks. Usually less.

I have learned that Soap Opera plot lines are ponderously slow.

All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital -- I watch them on SoapNet every night. I call it unreality tv.

Murder She Wrote is another fave.

110. Love me some Law and Order especially SVU...
just bought season 6 on DVD, converted some episodes to ipod format to watch/listen to at work.

I can watch an L&O marathon every week...well if I had cable.

I also watch Monk. So glad he's coming to NBC so those who didn't think of watching him on USA will get to see him.

My truly guilty pleasure, when I have access to cable is to watch all that trashy prison stuff and taboo stuff on MSNBC on the weekends after KO.

OH and I LOVE Cold Case Files. LOVE IT..the semi documentary show not the CBS show.
