BSG is gonna kill me (no spoilers, please)

I don't wanna post any spoilers for those who haven't seen the series premier yet.

But. I. Have. to. Scream.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

That is all.

2. That's one word for it ...

Driving. Me. In.Sane

And I made the mistake of watching the teaser for next week after I posted.

Now it's even worse.

AHHHHH!!!

Seriously (well, that was serious, but more seriously), I'm glad I wasn't let down. That long of a buildup for a new episode needed some significant payoff to make it worth it. I've never kept track of a show this long.

4. Wow, is it next Friday yet?
I'm wondering if we should ask for a separate BSG folder this season so we enthusiasts don't piss off the normal people with all our chatter. Also, maybe come to some sort of agreement on how long after airtime is it okay to discuss without risk of spoiling. I want to watch this season with no spoilers and I want to respect that for other people so at what point in time can we "officially" discuss the week's episode? I know I'm a total dork for even thinking of this but I know I'm going to want to talk about each week's episode.

5. 6 hour delay from the start of EDT/CDT broadcast
So those in Hawaii can see it. 5 hour time difference plus 1 for the episode to end.

6. I'll join your dorkiness ...
Edited on Fri Apr-04-08 10:27 PM by RoyGBiv
I'm all irritated 'cause the person I normally talk about episodes with FELL ASLEEP an hour before the show started, woke up half way through, and so refused to watch it. He recorded it but won't watch it until tomorrow.

So I wanna yak about it, but, like you, I don't want to spoil anything.

Just off the cuff, I think 24 hours to delay giving out details is about all one can expect for politeness's sake, but even that may be overkill. After it airs on the west coast, spoilers will be everywhere no matter what ya do. Hell, it'll be on a torrent or Usenet in the next hour or so.

I'd just make sure any thread having to do with BSG that might contain spoilers is clearly marked in the subject as containing spoilers.

7. yeah definitely we should agree to post a spoiler alert in the subject line
especially if it's an actual spoiler that reveals the final ending. Because I might go nuke on someone if they revealed how the season will end.

13. spoilerish question for you regarding tonight's episode
Because I don't have anyone to talk to about it right now and it's making me nuts. Do you recall them ever showing blood on the vipers after taking out a raider? I don't know if tonight was just the first time I ever noticed it or if that's something new.

14. Nope ... (spoilerish)
Already some conjecture about it out there ...

We have seen blood from a raider before, just not in that manner, so that's not the spoiler part in case anyone who reads this is concerned.

I noticed four separate allusions to minor tidbits of previous shows, suggesting they are a bigger deal that we might have thought. Even those incidents could be taken as meaning nothing (and they might be simple misdirection), but since they are direct references, I doubt they mean absolutely nothing.

Oh ... this is making me nuts.

Gonna watch it again since the second showing is starting.

:toast:

16. No accidents ...

Ronald Moore doesn't do anything by accident, which is to say any kind of symbolism you find was likely placed there for a purpose.

Unfortunately for our sanity, sometimes the purpose is to screw with our heads. :)

9. Frak me! (vaguely spoilerish)
They didn't tell us hardly anything! I felt and thought about the same at the end of tonight's episode as I felt at the end of the season three closer. Arrrrrrrrggggggghhhh?!

I mean, other than Baltars kooky new religion religion, were there any actual plot developments?

*cry*

I feel so used!

12. Oh, I think so ...

But it's a slow kind of development.

Explaining my reasoning would definitely be spoilerish, so I'll refrain for now.

Suffice to say we have a new source of tension that's not really been there before and a setup for some conflicts that will develop as the series progresses.

In all truth, I *never* feel like I know anything more about what happened when I finish an episode. I just am left wondering more about what will happen. Analyze that a bit and you start to realize that the questions of one episode actually just lead to more questions, which is plot development. And it's all leading toward the end.

I have a feeling this final season will be full of this kind of thing, the point of which is to keep the viewer as confused as the characters.
