1. I was reading a library book recently where somebody circled grammatical errors
The annoying part is that he missed a lot of grammatical errors. If you're going to be an asshole about something, at least do it right.

13. I've had similar experiences
Edited on Thu Apr-17-08 08:14 PM by hippywife
with someone taking notes and writing down questions in them. I mean, "Hey, stupid! It's not your book, okay?" It amazes me how inconsiderate people can be with things that don't belong to them. Hell, it amazes me in just about any situation these days.

7. I don't mind the highlighter
I was just giving you a plug. It was expected to arrive Friday or Monday, and showed up yesterday. Can't beat that for the price. I'll be looking through your catalog again.

10. Ahh nice!
It arrived in perfect condition. It's the first time my new place has smelled so much like a library.

15. I have a first edition of a book I love
And this kid wrote totally irrelevant stuff in the margins. Almost as good as the book.

Random comments. But you get to know him and how cool he is.

I'd love to publish it .

Khash.

16. Sometimes I like getting used books for the same reason.
It's really amusing to see a reader who underlines and puts his or her own notes in. Sad to see a used book inscribed something like, "I cherished this book and every page reminded me of you. Please take this gift in lieu of my soul" or something to that effect. I have a copy of The Handmaid's Tale wherein someone had scribbled out half the commas to make it easier to read. :D

22. Oh, sweetness! Hey. I had that confused with the Oxford stutter--
did you have a regrettable encounter with Oxford commas at some point?

Before I forget, there's a picture I took of my work table (on which I do my sketches) that made me think of you. I want to pm it to you tomorrow.
