Most of you guys know that I'm a member of our local city council (board of aldermen). Well, the guy who held the seat several years ago has come unglued and has launched a harassment campaign against me.
I practiced law with this guy for about 6 months and left after seeing him engage in a few too many actions that didn't smell quite right. I also had the temerity to defeat the candidate who defeated him, and I think his ego is damaged.
Anyway, I've received around 20 strange emails over the last month or so. Here are a few highlights:
"you don't have anything but smelly teeth a nasty wife and no assets because your a lazy do-nothing-slob (as we both know) and Roy would have to pay for you. Have a nice day you lying piece of bird turd".
"Wait until you see what is coming up on Tuesday at the public hearing. Have a nice weekend. Make sure you double up your medication nutjob".
"I saw you on Channel 22 the other day in a t-shirt. You need to lose weight. Go to a gym. You look like a slob". (Actually, I prefer the term "Richardsonesque")
"She actually tried to hire me as an attorney once. I told her to hire you, she said you were the worst attorney she ever met. She said you smell bad, you have really bad breath, and that you are lazy and stupid". ("She" is a friend of mine who I actually represented in a small claims case a few days ago)
"imagine if people knew what a loser you really are? How the court was going to bring you in front of the PCC board?" (The only PCC complaint I ever had was from a grumpy old man, and that was dismissed after about five minutes)
"I received six phone calls from ward three residents last night. Each one said they support my bringing a complaint with the AG's office and will work hard to unseat you the next time around. I also got three tips. One, you got evicted for non-payment of rent. Two, your wife works for Jeff Michelson, who cares about that one, but interesting that people would call to tell me that. Three, you are on medication for depression" (No, I was not evicted, and yes, I am on meds for depression. BFD.)
Obviously, this is getting tiresome. If anyone cares to send a good vibe my way, I could really use it.
