Why the rush to ban people like that?

Why not just ignore their posts - I mean, not responsing to them - and move on?

Along with CAPS and no real argument to be made. This person was out to stir up some shit, pure and simple. They weren't particularly subtle about it, either. It wasn't any one thing they did: it was all of it taken together that revealed them as a troll/sockpuppet. I didn't link to the third thread, RISE! HILLARY!!! RISE! which was the best of the three, all made within about 10 minutes of eachother, and showing a go-for-broke mentality.

This person has been with us before, under other names, though I don't know which of them it is.

Maybe they were reccing for the entertainment value. I'm not sure. Several expressed solidarity with the troll, without even realizing it was a parody of *cough* a certain person's followers.
