Follow up on the suspicious spot on my back...
I went to a great dermatologist, who removed 4 suspect moles from my back. He sent them off for biopsy. He stated that he believes the spots were "melanoma in-situ", meaning they are pretty superficial. He said he didn't see any discoloration on the deeper skin after he excised the moles. Worse case, it is level 1, and they may have to cut a bit more skin out, but he seemed fairly sure it was level 0. He said it was caught in an early state, which I was relieved to hear.

3. Thanks KW!
Is your migraine all gone now? I just want to go into a hole when I get those.

6. Good!
I almost can't wait for menopause, because a couple of relatives of mine who got them stopped getting them after they hit menopause. I have been suffering from them since age 6, and my heart truly goes out to anyone going through such a cacophony of pain and misery.

7. I have had them since I was 11 years old
I am in peri-menopause right now.

If anything, they are getting worse right now.

My son (he is 17) has them too, and he has had them since he was 4. But I think since he has hit puberty, the episodes have been less severe and far less frequent.

8. Hopefully, when you do hit menopause they will leave you.
Your poor son, too. You don't hear of too many males who get migraines.

9. Yeah
It took years to get an actual diagnosis of migraine in his case. Part of it was my own fault, since I had some preconceived notion that migraines did not occur until pre-pubescence. Even if he'd had the diagnosis, there were not very many medications for pediatric patients with migraine.

10. Good thing there are medications now.
Until they came out with Imitrex, being knocked out was about the only thing that truly helped.

I suppose there are ways to treat children now, as well, but I haven't really looked into it.

4. Thanks my dear California Peggy!
I still await the biopsy, but I feel much relieved after what the doc said. He really seemed to know what he was talking about. I was happy to find a doctor that good, with a great staff, so close to where I live.
