Black Friday and My Last Words are especially sweet. First club show I saw legally was Megadeth with Overkill....good old fashioned thrash! :headbang:

My first Megadeth concert had Suicidal Tendencies opening.

My second had Corrosion of Conformity.

My brother just saw them for like the 12th time and had a blast.

He just got back from Iraq a few months ago, and is now out of the Army. So he's getting to do all the stuff he couldn't while he was stuck over there.

On the metal theme... Iron Maiden isn't coming within 500 miles of us, so I bought us tickets to the Albuquerque show. Thanks to Southwest, we're going to be able to do the concert, airfare, hotel and car rental for the two of us for under $400.00 total. So, in a couple of weeks, I'll still be posting here, but I'll have hearing problems. :-)

Saw them many times back in the day. And Suicidal was great live! Never saw CoC. Came close once but Sepultura was playing the same night, so that's where we went.

What happened to me was that between 85 and 90 thrash was the ONLY thing I wanted to hear, and I ended up burning it out, and moved on to more post punk stuff like The Jesus Lizard, Ed Hall and to darker stuff like Burzum and Emperor. Now, I've come to appreciate a lot of that thrash again, but I won't burn it out anymore because my musical taste encompasses a ton of different styles and genres, not just speed. I listen to drone stuff like Sunn O))) one day, Frank Sinatra the next, and Cannibal Corpse the day after that. I've learned to appreciate so much more that it makes all of the styles better.

Hope you have an awesome time at the Maiden show. Can't believe the low cost you're able to do all that for. Great deal!
