I've been registered since late 2004, I have barely 800 posts

I've just clicked on the profiles of people in GD-P who have beaten my post count since registering last week.

I can't even imagine writing over 100 messages a day (Conceding the vast majority ae "Zellary Sucks!!!!! n/t", which don't take a lot of time to generate.).

I have a great many posts, since I live here!

And I did a term as Moderator...

That four month stint earned me in excess of 6000 posts!

I don't write over 100 posts a day, ever...

Before the "Greatest Page" existed, I used to read the most recent five or six pages of LBN every day and kick up deserving stories I thought had escaped attention

Been registered since Jan 2002 and still have less than 2000 posts. I go through spells where I won't post for weeks on end then I'll flood the board with 5 or 6 posts in one weekend. If I'm feeling really chatty I'll even start a thread. Of course it usually dies a swift and painless death.

In a forum where you know most of the regulars. It's weird knowing I don't post enough to be consistently recognized, but I can tell you a good deal of about the more prolific people.

i wonder what was going on that halloween when you registered here.

was it late? after all the "festivities" ended?

was it early in the day?

did you/your kids go trick or treating?

did you not answer the door because you were busy here?

i'm not trying to up your post count--i really am curious. of course, i registered in 2004 also (about a month after you--i really have no recollection of it)

I started reading DU and the forums are Coservative Idiots #3 (was linked from another poster in another forum), but I never felt a need to post--I just read my favorite thread starters.

However, I registered on Oct. 31st when a post in LBN brough up a fatal shooting in Rockville, MD. The shooter was an off-duty cop who chased a teenager down, and made him crash into the side of a store. The cop then ran over, threw open the door of the kid's vehicle and fired into it multiple times, killing the teenager.

The killing happened next to my gym, and my wife and I came out of the door just as the police started containing the situation. We saw the body. We saw the off duty officer sitting in the back of a patrol car. We saw the yellow tape come out.

Unfortunately, by the time my registration was vetted the story had passed from LBN, and I never got to comment on it.

At that point I decided I might as well become a member of the community.

for that to happen and you to be there after the fact.

The aftermath of the shooting, an accident where a car got T-boned and the front half of it, including the front seats, disappeared, and a pedestrian getting hit by a car going rather fast.

3 of the reasons I'm glad we don't live there anymore.

Sometimes, here in the lounge they play games, and I enjoy getting in on those and will play, you might like that too.

I was so relieved when I found DU back in 2005, but I am not very talkative in real life, so it just makes sense that I don’t say much here.
