Remember the Yahoo message boards that went along with each news story?

I used to waste a lot of time on them, before I discovered DU. There were some seriously vicious people on those. Their main joy in life, it seemed, was trying to make somebody else look foolish. Once in a great while, there was actually a sensible post.

About six months ago, Yahoo put up a notice they were discontinuing for forums for a while, and would put them back later. After a while, it became obvious that they just took them down for good. No great loss!
