TFITH new Chick tract blows evolution right out Jack's wizened ass
http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/1041/1041_01.asp?wpc=1041_01.asp&wpp=a

It's called "Moving On Up!" and it's actually decent UNTIL it gets to the part where it calls evolution a religion, says evolution replaced morals, etc., etc., etc...standard Jack Chick bullshit.

Chick Scorecard:

Chortling, laughing or otherwise-amused demon: yes
Someone getting thrown into hell ass-over-head: yes
Someone who just "got saved" ten minutes ago knowing the Bible by heart: yes

Special bonuses: equates evolution with Nazism

Yup. Totally Fucked In The Head.

1. It's amusing until it becomes revolting.
Classic Chick. It would be comforting to see that there's something that never changes, if that something didn't make you want to hurl.

2. And loaded with hypocrisy...
I love the line from the evil, Godless, evolution-crazy mother... "It's in all our school books, so it must be true!"

Just replace "all our school books" with "the Bible" and you have Chick discussing his beliefs (only without anything else to back them up).

3. I love how Chick sets up the straw-men (Like "Evolution is our Religion)...
...and then cuts it to ribbons.

He does a lot of damage with his lies...

4. I'm shocked he didn't call it "Darwinism" like Ben Stein does
and tell me, please tell me, has ANYONE who believes in evolution ever called evolution a religion?

14. I don't know if he really does that much damage, but he does provide amusement
I've only once been given a Chick tract, and it was an anti-Halloween one that a local church slid into my mailbox.

I know a lot of christians of different stripes-most of them would rather talk about religion with you than use a tract. That may be because the people I know are social workers and lawyers, for the most part, so they are talkative people by nature. I prefer it that way-I like to discuss it with them, because they do know the Bible well (as I do) and we can have really good, resepectful conversations about Bible interpretation. Even if I disagree with them on most issues, I can usually find something to agree with them on and move on from there.

5. I liked that panel that said "Tyler finally croaked."
He used the word "croaked'! And the Grim Reaper comes along and says, "Hi there."

6. The artwork in the evolution montage was great
Especially the fish with legs.

Still, it's just a rehash of this classic:

I can hardly let a Chick thread pass without this brilliant parody:

7. Shit! Jesus is holding together the nuclei of every single atom in the universe?
Looks like my imagination is a bit limited when it comes to the whole 'infinitely complex' thing.

11. I like how Chick quoted Hovind in his "Big Daddy"
Hovind is the genius (on the level of PR Barnum, who once said "a fool and his money are soon parted") who came up with the Creation Science Museum.

Is there a DUer in that area who would "take one for the team," tour Hovind's museum then come back to report on it? That should be a hoot.

15. I actually am dying to go to the Flintstone Museum
but am loathe to give them money. Perhaps if I pretend I am in need of saving they'd let me in for free?

Doubt it.

19. Jack's not the only person putting these out
See, Jack can't draw...compare

which Jack drew, to

which he did not.

So when Jack croaks (his words), these horrific abominations will continue to be produced.

My favorites right now are the Black Tract Series--the Exact Same Lame-Ass Tracts Jack's been cranking out for years, but with black faces stripped in replacing the white ones in Jack's classics.

20. Except the new artist appears to be trying to draw black people with black features
The old ones that Chick did were the same as the white characters, with black faces. The newer artists working on this series is trying to draw characters with individual facial features-it's all still crazy, but I do find the tracts amusing.

I like the black cop character featured in some of the tracts.

17. Thank goodness I read that
Until this morning I was a heathenish evolution-believing Catholic - but now I know that I'm saved, and realise that the world was really made 6,000 years ago. :eyes:
