I asked him to support a House bill that PREVENTED limiting Medicaid payments for things such as targeted case management, provider taxes, graduate medical education, and lots of services currently provided to Medicaid beneficiaries (Medicaid is a federally funded and state run medical program for indigent medical care. Most of which is provided to children)
He wrote me a letter back saying he agreed and had voted on it and it had passed 349-62 in the House. I'm not sure what the Senate's bill number is or was but it was H.R. 5613. He also put on the letter in his own writing "I agree SPK, Thanks" (well not SPK but my name :P  the thought of him calling me SPK made me crack up)
Has the world changed its polarity suddenly and I missed it????
I was in fact not surprised there are a few of his wealthier constituents that donate to him that are owners/providers that while probably abusing Medicaid, are providing services to a lot of people who wouldn't get those services otherwise in creative ways that have let them make LOTS of money from Medicaid.
So sometimes one is surprised and not surprised at the same time.
I've never had him send me a letter agreeing with me. Usually he writes something snarky at the bottom about how he disagrees. One such notable time was when he said "well if there are no WMD in Iraq, then where did they go SPK?" (paraphrase) and went on to talk about Syria etc.
Yeah, I write him a little bit.... :P
