I made a crippled, bed-ridden old woman cry today.
Someone had put together a short video slide show of some family photos and had emailed them to this woman's husband. The problem was, she didn't have a computer in her room to view the file with, and she hasn't been able to leave her bed for over three years. So he forwarded the file to me and I was able to convert it to a DVD for her, since she DOES have a DVD player in her room.

I delivered it today and stood watching it with her and her husband. Before it was over she was in tears because she could see all her old friends again and she was very happy with what I'd been able to do for her.

I do believe it was THE most satisfying moment I've ever had in this business.

 :headbang:

7. hey..I have a question...maybe you can help
we have a VHS tape of our wedding from 1989

somehow along the years, the tape was stored in a musty place and has mold on it.

First of all, is it ruined? Can it be played

and

can someone convert it to DVD?

8. It can be rescued with patience and a gentle touch.

I did a Google and came up with quite a few tips- here's a comprehensive reply you can start with. Good luck.

On edit: Yes, it's possible to convert it to DVD. I've done it before myself- all it takes is a tape player attached correctly to a good computer (with the right add-on card and software).

Any good camera shop should be able to help you if you can't find anyone else. If all else fails you can always PM me and I'll convert it for you.

13. Well, not to brag, but...
Moments like that make a lot of lesser days a lot more acceptable. (If that makes any sense at all...)

And, believe me, I've had a LOT of lesser days to make up for.

18. Something a bit similar happened to me.
BF's stepmom lives in one of those high rise nursing homes that looks like a hotel.

She had one of those pixel screen picture frames that has a battery. It had one picture displayed on it. I picked it up and started pushing buttons, and it rotated through five or six pictures. She had no idea that it had more than one picture on it.
