My grandma just died

we were in Cancun. And we got a phonecall. I'm okay, but my dad's a bit distraught. I feel a bit shocked.

She will be missed. That generation is all gone from my family and it leaves an emptyness that is never really gotten over. Tell your dad you love him and cherish the time you have with him. We lost our dad prematurely in a auto crash, so know you are lucky to have him still.

So sorry, my Mum (UK term) died four years ago, and it still hurts. Grandchildren still talk about her affectionately. And the pain softens as you remember and keep her alive in your hearts. Remembering the dear things she said as well as the eccentric things about her will bring solace in the end. 08)

it's hard. i lost 3 grandparents. one each year around thanksgiving since 2001.(YES, it is all george's fault dammit!) so the bush years are extra sucky.
but if she didn't have cacer and went quick and not in a nursing home, look at it as a 'good' death. hate to be calous, but death in america is not a good way anymore.
