Let's save the usual porn debates for another thread. I have no idea how this opening scene fits into the rest of the movie...so, it opens up with an argument between two women and the brunette is spouting rightie talking points, telling the blonde she will gladly give up some rights to avoid a terrorist attack, that the blonde with whom she is arguing is a terrorist sympathizer, etc. The lovely blonde, uh, protagonist responds that the brunette is a fascist pushing the "Wolfowitz Doctrine" and "PNAC Charter," then goes into a little about Gonzo endorsing torture and tells the brunette she has been watching too much "spin zone."

I have no idea what this means, but I think it is some kind of cultural breakthrough.

Amazing that I get better political discussion from Bree's Slumber Party (no, I'm not kidding) than corporate news. :D

but a study of porn shows it often reflects what is going on in the culture at the time (socially, politically), although I haven't come across such an obvious example. But it's cool, huh?

In a political science class, and she wasn't happy with the grade that was already given, so she did some favors for the teacher. As she was performing a "favor" he was asking her questions about Watergate etc, and even mentioned Woodward and Bernstein, and he asked her if she was a Republican or Democrat. Her reply? "I don't care" then she went back to getting that hard-earned A. Or so that's what my friend told me happened.
