My day started bad and just got worse

My brother-in-law is in the middle of his second tour with the Army--previously, he served in Iraq where he was injured in combat while serving as a tank gunner. Today, my sister found out that he was in a transport accident in Afghanistan. Thankfully, he escaped serious injury though he is pretty banged up at the moment (i.e. not too injured ot be able to come home).

About 4 hours later I found out my father was admitted to the hospital for something going on with his heart. He's now made it through the first round of testing and tomorrow they begin looking for electrical causes for his problem.

Both of these men seem to have avoided the truly serious problems that could have occurred, but I am still just numb. Hopefully, tomorrow or the day after brings with it the "everything is fine" signal from both parts of my family.

My father is undergoind electrical systems (?) testing on his heart tomorrow, and it is possible the doctors will be stopping and restarting his ticker. Hopefully, we get him back home by this weekend.
