Some people need to grow up...and realize...
That just because you can't physically see someone over the internet...the people you are "talking" to are, in fact, REAL people with REAL feelings. This is just a friendly reminder that there are ALWAYS consequences of what you say even if you can't see them!

1. It's so much easier for people to be an ass over the Internet, where they don't have
to face the other person. Not making excuses for anyone--I've been the recipient of online snarkiness that the person probably wouldn't have done in RL.

I think that it would be nice for people to realize that, but unlikely.

I volunteer in a phonebank for Shaheen for Senate in NH once a week. Last night, I had the dubious pleasure of contacting "U"'s (undecided voters) in Manchester. I got a tired, pissed off Republican. Here's how it went;

ME;" Hello, my name is Zanne and I'm calling on behalf of Jeanne Shaheen's campaign for senate."

IRATE REPUBLICAN; "I'm not voting for any Democrat. NOW LEAVE ME ALONE, BITCH!"

ME; "Thank you for your time. Have a pleasant evening".

--Thank God I couldnt' see this guy through the phone!
