The only job I could find in my area...
is at a fucking Wal-Mart. I had a second interview today. They hired me on the spot without going through a third interview (whoopdee doo). What really sucks about this job is that it pays $7.30/hr. That's a little less than the cost of two gallons of gas. x( :grr:  You know what else really fucking sucks? I'll be doing three times more work there than I did at my previous job and get paid ~55% less!

I'm about to flip out right now. I don't know how I'm going to survive on $7.30/hr.

Excuse me while I sit in a corner and cry.

12. i bet they pay more than walmart and maybe you'd be doing something there

23. Probably not. It's just another form of retail.
Besides, Staples just runs big copiers, not presses. Copy machine operators don't make squat.

6. Best thing I can suggest is to keep looking even while you're working there.
Better to have some income in the meantime while you're looking for something better than to have no income.

9. I know...
I'll just make enough to pay my bills and buy groceries. I won't be saving a dime.

Plus, I'll be paying back my student loans starting at the end of June.

I'm going to go back and cry in my little hole.

11. As long as you can afford phone/internet and gas, you can keep job hunting.
Best of luck.

15. Get a forebearance on your student loans
If your loans are through the Feds, you can apply for a forebearance and delay repayment. I did it while in grad school part time and also again when laid off.

If you've got private loans, explain the situation to them - they'll prolly want to verify your wages and such, but it's your best shot to do before the first payment comes due.

Good luck in your on-going search!

16. Thanks.
I'll have to do that. They're federal loans, so hopefully they'll allow it.

25. I've done this three times in a row on mine
It was quite straightforward and easy. They're still accruing interest, but...

Gotta eat, so... :(

19. Second on the forebearance.
You can keep it going for quite a while. You want to get on it before you are supposed to start payment, though, or it will be a world of hassle.

Hang in there. Things suck right now, but at least you have some sort of employment, crappiness notwithstanding, to keep you going while you look for something better.

26. What about
Kinkos ? Or even a employment agency? The pay would be more at either of those places.
