I went shooting for the first time today
Other than the burned, bullet-riddled car outside the shooting range marked "this guy was a registered Democrat" (:eyes: ), it was a lot of fun. I've always been interested in firearms but I'd never had the opportunity to indulge my curiosity until today, thanks to an invite from my friend in the Marines.

I fired a .270 Winchester deer rifle, an M-4 semiauto and a couple of .45 pistols. I surpassed my low expectations and even outshot my other friend, from the Air Force, who joined us. My first shot ever hit the outer edge of the bullseye from 100 yards with a scope in high winds. My Marine friend called me a natural. He doesn't know I'm a Democrat though :)

1. Nice post, troll.
Why don't you go listen to Rush Limbaugh or something?

8. LOL
I'd go shooting if I were any good at it. I did it once a couple of years ago... It turns out I really, REALLY suck at firing a weapon.

Sigh... I suppose I'll just have to stick to wielding a machete when the zombies come.

2. I want to learn how to shoot
A shooting range sounds fun. I have no interest in owning a gun since I have a child in my home, but it seems smart to know how to use one and to not be afraid of it.

9. It wasn't hard at all
Although I did really well with the scoped rifle, as far as the pistols went, we used some of the largest ones out there and while I didn't hit the bullseye, I would have done well enough to defend myself. And that was just the first few clips. However, if I were going to go out and buy a gun right now, I'd get a smaller caliber weapon with sub-sonic rounds that won't go through walls. I'm not that good yet.

After today, I'd recommend it because it was easy, not intimidating, and fun. Kinda pricey though.

4. My first time was last year, but it wasn't a rifle..
my nephew and his cop friend went to one of the local ranges last year. I've never fired a gun in my life, and it was interesting....

The cop ( Rich ) brought his Glock, and my nephew had a Browning ( 22 I think? )

I found the Glock to be much lighter and easier to handle, although not as accurate as the Browning.

The Browning had a great deal more kickback than the Glock, and did seem to be more accurate.

It was a good time...all-in-all :D
