National Treasure: Book of Secrets sucked @$$ ***SPOILER WARNING***

***SPOILER WARNING***

Ed Harris, was he a good guy or a bad guy? Who cares? Why the hell did they have to go find the treasure to clear their family's good name? Who cares? Why did they have the whole family tagging along on this? Who cares? Was the FBI really trying to catch them the whole time? It didn't seem like it. Who cares?

The idea of cranking out formulaic movies is that you actually stick to a formula. I really loved how Ed Harris in one scene was about to slit somebody's throat and the very next he saves the day.

1. It really was horrible, wasn't it?
I could go along with it until they got to South Dakota -- and then, while it hadn't exactly been coherent, it TOTALLY FELL TO PIECES. Completely inexplicable ending. And the little coy bit at the end with the car being returned did nothing but piss me off. "Oh, we're SO clever, isn't this cute??" - like the writers knew they'd delivered a stinker but wanted everyone to think they hadn't.

I saw it on a plane about a month ago. Was incredibly disappointed. At least the second movie was "Juno" - much, much better.

3. I lost it before South Dakota...
When the President was only too happy and willing to go spelunking around under Mount Vernon with nutball Nicholas Cage. That entire scene was beyond preposterous.

8. Another thing, what was the deal with "page 47"?
Never even hinted at what that may have been. Plus they slammed JFK conspiracy theories.

4. LOL, I rather liked it
but then I wasn't expecting too much going in to it. I was looking for over the top silliness and that's what I got. I think the key to enjoying movies like that is adjusting your expectations. That and being a huge geek.

5. Harvey Keitel wasn't chasing them because he was FBI
He was chasing them because he was a freemason.

9. But he wasn't even even chasing them though.

He just laughed off Nicholas Cages shenanigans with a shrug. Why even have that character in the movie? Plus they had those two other FBI agents who they semi-developed and they seriously just didn't do anything, they were there so Keitel would have actual bodies to bounce dialogue off of, he might as well have been talking to a wall.

6. Gates!!!
I lost it when I saw Nicholas
Cage's endlessly distracting
HAIRLINE.

WTF???

What the HELL is going ON up there?

Also, his flat, dead expressions
and "acting".

Gates!!
