Absolutely brutal knock out (Tonight's UFC-Spoiler animated gif)
Silva vs Jardine

That was the Silva of 2004, and I am very, very happy to see him back.

1. Reminds me of a young Mike Tyson
He was like a raging bull.

2. Thankfully, Jardine left under his own power
but he remained on the mat for 3 to 4 minutes.

Silva is similar to Tyson--his wins tend to be in quick fights with a lot of aggression. He was also at one time the top light heavyweight in the world.

Silva's nickname is the Ax Murderer due to his ferocity and head first style, so, again, very similar to Tyson.

I think it is an apt comparison.

3. I'm glad Jardine wasn't seriously injured
Looks like that ref hopped in there just in time to keep that from happening.

4. Heh, he actually stopped it a bit late
Refs are supopsed to break up the fight when the guy getting hit is no longer intelligently defending himself. Silva hit Jardine with 12 straight punches that connected flush. Twelve! The last 3 (especially after Silva used his one hand to hold Jardine's head still) should have never been thrown.

However, the ref in question has been accussed of premature stoppages in the past and went the other way tonight. He had at least 2 matches that went too long.

5. Violence is never the answer
Whatever's wrong, couldn't they just talk it over?

7. I've always said...
violence should remain in the bedroom, where it belongs.

8. Unless you can kick somebody in the nuts, it's not really ultimate fighting is it?
