Ever find yourself using a phrase or saying that annoys you?
Lately whenever I'm leaving someplace after saying good-bye, see ya later etc. I catch myself saying "Alright then" as the last thing I say. Picked up this annoying habit from my GF's brother. Kathy thinks it's hilarious since I don't like her brother. Every time I hear myself say it I cringe.

1. I just said "looking to" this afternoon
Freaked me right out--I HATE that saying.

Mr. MG and MG Jr. make a point of saying "test it out" instead of "try it out" or "test it" in front of me just to see my head explode. That's one thing that I will NEVER say.
:puke:

Better to have one and not need it, than need it and not have one.

4. Yeah
"Fuck me" as an expletive rather than a request. Every time I heard it I cringed. First time I said it I slapped myself, hard. Now I say it all the time.

Khash.

5. "crazy busy" is one for me
I would ask friends how they are doing and that would be their reply. Now I say it when I've been busy.

6. "When I was your age..."
I caught myself saying that twice. And I vowed never to give advice to anyone younger than me ever again unless they asked for it.

9. Oh yeah...
I still use "whatever" sometimes when I'm at a loss for words. And I feel like a complete idiot every single time. :-(

10. "Just giving you a heads up."
I detest that phrase. I fight against it, but admit that I've said it once recently.

12. It is a phrase I used in the past, and couldn't believe I was
using. "Because I'm your mother."

I don't say it now. They are all grown. But how could I have said that? I vowed that I never would!

I sign off business calls. Thankfully most of
them are American so they think I'm crazy anyway.

15. I used to end most discussions with "if you know what I mean". I have
trouble making sense when I talk sometimes.

16. "Like I was saying"
Drives me crazy to hear myself use this line and then repeat something I just said. My parents have done it for years and I swore I would not get into the habit of doing it....but I do on occasion.

18. "You know what I mean..."
This used to drive MrG batshit crazy, and yet I can't help myself. Sometimes I intersperse it with,"You know what I'm sayin'"

Picked it up from a friend. I think I'm over it now thank god. I say 'yikes' too. I have no idea where that came from
