Would you wear a tail?
Edited on Mon May-26-08 04:16 PM by Archae
I was talking to my early 'teens niece today, and she was wearing a tail, clipped on to her pants.
(The back, naturally.)

The tail looked like a fox's tail, but was fake fur.
My niece said it's "the latest thing" among her friends, to wear a tail.

Now since I like some aspects of "furrys," I have seen those years before. Especially at a furry convention I went to.

But is wearing a tail becoming the latest "mainstream" fad?

1. If this is actually a fad, then there is little or no hope for future generations.
I thought Crocs sunk us for good and had taken us as low as we could go, but this...

2. I like it better than the "bling bling" fad.

3. Good point. Tough call.
I'll have to think about this one, because at this point it's a draw.

Who looks dumber - a person with a tail or a person wearing a frisbee-sized watch and seventeen pounds of jewelry? I honestly can't make that call right now.

4. At least bling can have ironic value.
A tail? That's just all around lame.

5. Both "bling" and tails should be limited to costume parties if the wearers of same have any taste.
Just my opinion, but I'll bet more people agree with me on this than not.

8. I just wore really baggy jeans.
As was the style for skateboarders in the mid-late 90s/early 2000s.

7. Girls especially go through weird fads
When I was in high school all the girls ate baby food and sucked on pacifiers. It's a way to establish an identity, yet still remain part of a group Seemingly more difficult for girls than guys. There are culural reasons for that, so I ain't slamming girls.

I don't know if I'd wear a tail, a leather suit jacket, silk shirt and leather tie is more my style. But people play. It's fun.

Khash.

9. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Just about every fashion, with the exception of ones that are actually useful like large brimmed hats (cowboy, fedora, baseball/trucker) when you're out in the sun, loose or tight jeans when you're doing activities that work best with one or the other, ect., is silly.

And I for one think this world isn't worse of for having to deal with a bit of sillyness now and then. It's the uglyness in the world that we need to worry about. Like bad 80s hair making a comeback. :scared:

11. I've always wonderedi
if people REALLY had tails, would they wear them inside or outside of their clothes?

Would they be modest about them, like a secondary sexual characteristic, or would they let them fly proudly?
