The 8 Least Intimidating Gangs in Movie History
The 8 Least Intimidating Gangs in Movie History

By Ian Fortey

#8.
Red Triangle Circus Gang from Batman Returns

#7.
The Greasers from The Outsiders

#6.
Los Locos from Short Circuit 2

#5.
The Regulators from Young Guns

#4.
The Cowboys from Tombstone

#3.
The Albino Gang from Vamp

#2.
Tranny Ninjas from Escape from LA

#1.
The Hi Hats/The Furies/The Punks from The Warriors

In fairness, this whole article could be about the Warriors, a semi-classic, full of the worst gangs ever conceived of and put to film.

But in the interest of variety, we'll merely make mention of some of the most egregiously stupid ones. Making only minimal waves in the film are The Hi Hats, a gang of mimes who wear top hats.

Why--in a New York overrun with gang violence, when everyone is at war with everyone else and turf needs to be defended violently--anyone would allow a gang of mimes to exist is a question that cannot be logically answered.

14. The mildly retarded punk gang from Death Wish IV
This is the Death Wish movie with the highest body count. One reason Chuck Bronson and the assortment of geezers who he helps "take back the streets" of New York were able to kill so damn many of them was that in the final shoot out they invariably ran out into the open and stopped, standing in the middle of the street, before they'd aim and shoot at the geriatric vigilantes they'd been terrorizing since the first reel. They must have been doing serious drugs since in all the street shooting, they don't hit a single store owner, and in fact don't even shoot out a single window. The only glass shattered in the entire scene are the storefront windows Charles Bronson throws the punks through whenever he gets tired of just shooting them. The geezers gun down something like 70-90 street thugs and don't lose a single man. The punks take something like a 90% casualty rate, but still keep on charging headlong into the bullets like WW1 doughboys massing across No Man's Land.

Worst. Fight scene. Ever.
