They used to allow teachers to spank kids or hit them in school. In this case, Miss Spencer just liked to give "birthday spankings" and that would only be 6 in first grade... In those days parents didn't freak out, they figured we deserved it.

Birthday spankings... sounds kind of kinky now that I think about it.

88. NanceGreggs, Will Pitt and the DU are famous enough for me.
These two DUers aren't the only ones whose words I seek out in the Democratic Underground but they are easily the most well known. I have heard the DU spoken of quite highly by Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy and Thom Hartmann, so to me that makes the Big DU pretty famous too! (Sorry if I missed your praises about our lil' forum Big Eddie and Ms Maddow).
