1. That really does suck.
Edited on Wed May-28-08 09:55 PM by Kutjara
I'm still trying to work out what "faith of the heart" is supposed to mean. Is that like "hope of the gall bladder" or "conviction of the descending colon"? Presumably, just "faith" would be enough, without roping an internal organ into the matter. I'm doubly disappointed that the producers didn't come up with some equivalent evil lyrics for the alternate universe episodes, just "menacing" instrumental music.

I'm still not sure it beats the theme to "Reba" though. The "I'm a survivor" line seems a touch callous, considering the tragic fate of her backing band.

4. I share your incomprehension. I just looked her up on Wikipedia.
Edited on Wed May-28-08 10:01 PM by Kutjara
She's like a one-woman industry of shit. About 80% of the songs that have ever made me contemplate tearing my own eardrums out seem to have been written by her.

5. How many times can someone use "I", "Heart" and "Love" in a song title?
Edited on Wed May-28-08 10:05 PM by MrScorpio
As many times as it takes one ears to bleed.

10. My greatest loathing...
...is reserved for anyone who rhymes "fire" with "desire." I think this woman does it about six times in every song.

26. But she did write ONE that i like... the only GOOD MeatLoaf song not penned by Jim Steinman
"I'd Lie For You, and That's the Truth"...

But then, according to the majority of DUers, Steinman is teh debil too...

29. OMG! so that's where i developed my burning hatred for love songs!
she's the never ending font of saccharin shit! she literally supplies 1/2 of the playlist for 'soft rock, easy listening' radio stations, churning out those Harlequin romance dropouts as lyrics. who in their right mind keeps giving her work?

everyone knows 'soft rock, easy listening' listeners have no ear for music. all you need is some hack singer warbling "baby, baby, baby, i need you" ad infinitum and those suckers would still turn in because it's "wholesome and non-threatening." she's like a WMD against even the mediocre sensibilities!

12. Coronation Street.
For the uninitiated it's a UK soap opera, usually ranks in Top 10 shows in UK airs about 7:30 pm.

Same theme music since it started, granted but it still sucks in my eyes.

14. Pretty sucky
I would say that it was written by a middle-schooler but that would be an insult to middle-schoolers.

It's been a long road,
To get from there to here.
It's been a long time,
but my time is finally here.

And I can feel a change
in the wind right now.
Nothing's in my way.
And they're not gonna hold me down no more.
No they're not gonna hold me down.

'Cause I've got faith of the heart.
I'm going where my heart will take me.
I've got faith to believe.
I can do anything.
I've got strength of the soul.
And no one's going to bend or break me.
I can reach any star.
I've got faith,
I've got faith,
Faith of the heart.

It's been a long night,
Trying to find my way.
Been thru the darkness,
Now I finally have my day.

And I will see my dream
come alive at last.
I will touch the sky.
And they're not gonna hold me down no more.
No they're not gonna change my mind.

'Cause I've got faith of the heart.
I'm going where my heart will take me.
I've got faith to believe.
I can do anything.
I've got strength of the soul.
And no one's going to bend or break me.
I can reach any star.
I've got faith,
Faith of the heart.

I know the wind's so cold,
I've seen the darkest days.
But now the winds I feel,
Are only winds of change.
I've been thru the fire,
And I've been thru the rain,
But I'll be fine.

'Cause I've got faith of the heart.
I'm going where my heart
will take me.
I've got faith to believe.
I can do anything.
I've got strength of the soul.
And no one's going to bend or break me.
I can reach any star.
'Cause I've got faith,
'Cause I've got faith,
Faith of the heart...

Faith of the heart.
I'm going where my heart
will take me.
I've got faith to believe.
And no one's going to bend
or break me.
I can reach any star.
'Cause I've got faith,
'Cause I've got faith,
Faith of the heart...

16. That song ruined my last shred of remaining faith in humanity.
If it's not the worst thing ever (and I'm not just talking song, I'm talking the worst thing humans have ever managed to inflict on each other) I really don't want to know what's worse.

30. The "Friends" themesong is pretty god awful
I'm not saying that it's worse than Enterprise's, but in terms of its propogation through the culture at large, I'll Be There For You is much more horrible.
