Mitch Hedberg.
I watched him on Comedy Central a few weeks back, never heard of him until then. I think he was really funny. I didn't know until the day before yesterday he died in '05. :(

R.I.P, Mitch and thanks for the laughs.

1. I remember when he died. Lots of people thought it was an April fool's prank.
He was great, I was pretty bummed when he died.

7. He died on March 29 so some people thought it might be a joke because it was so close to April 1st.

for 1 he played a douchebag which seemed to fit naturally for him and 2, he got killed.

Crappy, obscure comedians are fine, but inflicting them on a mass audience is a cardinal sin.

13. i loved this one

It's not on either of his CDs. Where'd you hear it?

I also like this one: "My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I wanted a regular banana later, so... yeah."

sent her David Cross's "It's not funny" and she loved it, i'm tempted to send her "Shut up, you fucking baby" but my sister would go in to total vapor lock.

funny...I was really sad to hear when he passed away. :(

I loved Bill Hicks too. Another great comic who died before his time. I miss them both.

29. I saw him live once...
one of the worst comedy shows I've ever seen. Seriously, he was just awful. People had talked for years about what a genius he was, but he was just shitfaced and mumbling the time I saw him. Could barely get a single line out. It was embarrassing.

32. One of my favorites:
"I love an escalator. An escalator can never break down. It can only become stairs."

I saw him at that comedy club at the Ontario mall in SoCal about a year before he died, and it was my intention to see him whenever I could thereafter and for years and years to come.

He threw a mean show, and I'm sad he's gone.
