Dumb question: How many DU DefCon levels are there, and what are the consequences?

I'm curious.

Edit for clarity: I am referring to DU DefCon levels, not actual DefCon levels.

Defcon4: Heads up, something/someone is skulking around in the tall grass

Defcon3: Unlock the armory

Defcon2: Serious shit, Cuban Missile Crisis was a 2.

Defcon1: Serious shit just hit fan. See you in hell.

Basically Defcon ("defense readiness condition") 5 means peacetime preparedness, sort of a military expression for snoring.

Defcon 1 means imminent attack expected--you know--like Diebold expected to declare McCain president or something.

The others are in-between stuff, like yellow and orange alerts at TSA checkpoints.

To put it in lay terms, Defcon 5 is where the Bush administration was on September 10, 2001,
and Defcon 1 is where they should have been if they had done their jobs.

Three: :grr: Someone, mostly likely a troll, started a thread in GD-P about a Dem candidate's sex life, dining habits, fashion sense, voting record, military service or lack thereof, etc. Can you say Fight Club? Skinner does some house cleaning.

Two: :mad: Any thread in GD-P, it went personal. Snide to vile comments about about personal habits, ancestry, level of hygiene, etc. Skinner passes out a lot of tombstones.

One: :nuke: At least five threads are in total meltdown, almost complete gibberish. Ten or more are utter flamers. Skinner gets knee walking drunk or higher than a kite, depending upon his preferred chemical.

Level 1: signatures turned off
Consequence: vague paranoia induced, as you wonder why it's only your signature that reads "Signature lines are currently turned off due to high traffic."

Level 2: Avatars turned off
Consequence: worries that you can't actually read properly, when you realise you can only distinguish DUers by the little pictures

Level 3: Simple search feature turned off
Consequence: Now you think your memory's gone, because you can't find the stuff you're sure you saw only minutes ago

Level 4: Latest page reverts to old, old style
Consequence: Now you're lost, and you don't know how to get home, whatever home is ...

Basically, it's all a big psychological experiment on you. Why do you think the head admin is called Skinner?
