Does your town test tornado sirens during storm?
In every other town I've lived in, the rule was that tornado sirens wouldn't be tested during thunderstorms. That way, if the sirens DO go off--even at the usual testing time--you know it's a real warning. But this morning, at 10:30 am, in the midst of a fairly nasty thunderstorm, the sirens went off. And ya know, I just knew that the, umm, people in charge here would test the sirens in the middle of a storm, in spite of the fact that it's a stupid thing to do.

It occurred to me that maybe I should go to the basement. But I didn't. And I was right.
